Before & After
I often wonder, when people move from house to house, or outgrow
furniture - where does the furniture go? It's not like we have thrift or
antique stores in Bahrain where you can sell these pieces at a nominal price. So seriously - where does it go?
I had two arm chairs that I wanted to get rid of. I wanted to get rid of them because I had no space for them. Plus, they were worn out and faded. Their style however went nicely with my house. So I figured, why not rejuvenate it with a great upholsterer?
And then my mission began. Find the right fabric.
I went around the island but couldn't find the right shade or pattern. I didn't even know what I wanted but I know I wanted to be inspired.
Enter Lumineux - a growing interior design firm. Design director Manal is hands on in selecting all fabrics, accessories, and all things beautiful. I probably visited their store over a dozen times - because every time I made up my mind, I would go again to pay and then see something else and be inspired all over again.
So this is how the old arm chairs looked like: drabby and shabby.
And this is the very same armchair, resurrected, and redone at Oriental Furniture.
So if you have some furniture you want to get rid of - think again and give it a facelift.
