Was I dreaming?

I turned 35 a week ago, and no, it's not a milestone, but I decided to throw myself a party.

I invited my closest friends, and threw the dream dinner.  Flowers, lights, long dining table, full fledged buffet and all the tiny details that made it unforgettable.
And it was.  So unforgettable that I often ask myself if it actually happened...

Being the control freak that I am, I plan months ahead (yes, excel files, the works).  And on the day of the event I am burnt out.  This time,  I opted for a global trend.  I outsourced.  And I have not one ounce of regret.

The first person I dealt with was Rima Chehab. Rima started an event planning business (Events A La Carte) and from the pictures I saw - I loved her attention to details.  I met with her around 6 weeks prior to my dinner and went over my theme - I wanted rustic, earthy and a splash of color.  It was an outdoor party and I wanted it to be different and one that screams: me.  I loved the fact that she was accomodating to my very picky and specific taste and she met it with a smile and determination.  The end result is simply:
The attention to detail - done by Rima.
I wanted to leave a little token to my friends to remember the evening with.  So I found a favor shop based in Bahrain (@pretty_favors on instagram) with a huge variety of favors.  I found the perfect lace-trimmed candles and ordered them immediately.  The prices are not cheap however not overpriced as well.  If you factor in shipping and the wait, it turns out to be the same amount and a lot more convenience.  So it's definitely worth it.  The owner was attentive, professional, and pleasant to deal with.  I am definitely ordering from her again.  The candles were placed on each napkin.
The side table - dressed by Rima.
And finally, I dealt with ADHSEvents - who provided me the outdoor seating and  the most gorgeous chiavari chairs.  Those chairs were honestly the cherry on top. I've been dealing with them for years and find that their service is consistently good, professional, and reliable.
My menu was catered for by Crowne Plaza, and they were amazing.  From the initial meetings I had with the banqueting and sales team, to the chef who accommodated my taste, to the experienced waitresses on the day - it was a wonderful setup.
The feast
Dessert was plated for each guest and the contents were: chocolate chip cookie cups, lemon curd parfait (both by Blissfultemptations), and the pistachio cake by Cafe Lilou.
Heaven on a plate
All in a all, it was a magical night.  And for those who came, who helped, and who showed love - I thank you.

Here's to a soaring 2014.
